Chain sawing

Another type of saw Concrete Cutting Sydney can employ is the diamond chainsaw. This piece of equipment, as its name suggests, is based on a regular wood cutting chainsaw, with diamond segments mounted on the chain.

In situations where a deeper cut is needed, we have a range of diamond chain saws which can also be used to form precise corners without the need to over-cut.

These machines are hydraulically driven and are run by either a petrol, diesel or 3-phase electric power pack.

Chain Sawing by Concrete Cutting Sydney

A good concrete chain saw has a cutting capability of up to a depth of 1000mm.

Our chain sawing gives you a precise hand held cutting process and these versatile machines can be used in confined and indoor spaces.

The hand held or track mounted Chain Saw is the ideal piece of equipment for those one off, intricate cutting operations where perhaps a more robust cut is required.

Diamond chain sawing is ideal for:

  • Creating openings in reinforced concrete floors where access is restricted

  • Cutting/Extending existing openings in floors where access is restricted

  • Reducing Precast Manhole rings to correct invert levels.

  • Cutting or Widening Expansion Joints

  • Removal of existing overhangs and soffits

Hydraulic Chain Sawing is generally used in conjunction with wall sawing. The chain saw can cut the corners without any over cuts, saving the integrity of the slab or wall that is to be left in place.

Chain saws are also used to cut openings in floors or walls when it is more cost-effective then other cutting methods. Chain saws are commonly used for ducts openings that are relatively small in outside dimension.
