Alcohol & Drugs Policy
Persons who use illegal drugs or abuse alcohol or other controlled substances, on or off their jobs, are likely to be less productive, to be less reliable, to be more frequently absent, and to have other work related problems that can cause increased cost, delays, accidents, and injuries.
These employees can also damage the health, safety and well-being of other workers on the job. Our company can control and reduce this problem through recognition of the problem, development of a comprehensive policy and program of education and information, promotion of an assistance program, and implementation of fair and respectful alcohol and drug testing that conforms to federal guidelines for specimen collection and analysis. Supervisors will be trained to identify employees in potentially difficult situations, and to recognize signs of impairment, as well as the supervisors' responsibility to document, intervene and follow up with the individual in question.
Alcohol and Drug Work Rule - An Employee may not:
use, possess or offer for sale alcohol and drugs while at a company workplace.
report to work or work while under influence or while unfit to work on account of the use of a prescription or non-prescription drug,
refuse to comply with a request made by a representative of the company to submit to an alcohol and drug test or provide a sample for an alcohol and drug test or tamper with a sample for test.
